In 2024, we saw many incredible moments—from the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle to some spectacular LEGO releases. Today, I want to share my personal top five LEGO sets of 2024. While these picks are just my opinion, they truly stood out as iconic releases this year.
#5 LEGO Rose Bouquet
Let’s start with #5: the LEGO Rose Bouquet, which I built for my girlfriend. After seeing it all over Instagram, I was captivated by its beauty and had to get it for her. I even made a cinematic reel showcasing this stunning set. Not only was it fun to build, but it’s also gorgeously designed. One thoughtful detail is the “to” and “from” space on the box—perfect for gifting to loved ones. These timeless flowers never need watering, and they’re something I can pass down to my kids one day.
#4 LEGO Gotham from LEGO Batman
Coming in at #4 is the LEGO Batman Gotham City set. Though I haven’t purchased it yet, this set is a masterpiece for Batman fans. It features amazing minifigures including Harley Quinn, Joker, and Catwoman. As a piece of LEGO DC excellence, it absolutely deserves its spot in the top five. Sorry, Marvel fans, but this set is simply incredible.
#3 LEGO ICONS Pharrell Williams Over the Moon
At #3, we have the LEGO Pharrell Williams Over the Moon set. While I had mixed feelings in my review, this set represents a groundbreaking moment for LEGO and hip-hop culture. Though it might not offer the best value for money, its vibrant design makes it a true work of art. The fact that Pharrell has his own LEGO set is remarkable—something I never would have expected but definitely deserves recognition.
Honorable Mentions: LEGO Botanical Chrysanthemum
Before revealing the top two, let’s cover some honorable mentions. First, the LEGO Chrysanthemum from the Botanical Collection. This affordable, enjoyable set proves you don’t need to break the bank for an amazing build.
LEGO Speed Champions AMG G63 and SL63
The LEGO AMG Mercedes G63 and SL63 deserve mention too. These yellow beauties were fantastic builds, especially the G-Wagon with its incredible detail. They come with two minifigures and were truly enjoyable to construct.
LEGO ICONS Polaroid OneStep SX70
And the last honorable mention I had to include this, the Lego Polaroid OneStep SX70 camera. It’s also a work of art, and it kind of matches the Pharrell set, if you guys didn’t know, but this is an amazing set.
#2 LEGO Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree
So let’s go into the number two spot of the top five Lego sets of 2024. At the number two spot, I had to put this Breath of the Wild’s Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 set. So much detail. The build is beautiful, and it has to be one of the most iconic sets that I feel like Lego has created for 2024, especially for the Zelda series. Zelda fans, I know y’all are loving this. Me personally, as a big Breath of the Wild fan, I had to put this in the number two spot. The fact that they created this as a Lego set just shows the next-level greatness when it comes to Lego. They really stepped up their game this year, 2024, for Zelda fans.
#1 LEGO Technic Mclaren P1
Now, as we get into number one, this one is just so iconic that it’s going to be my number one spot for Lego sets of 2024. At the number one spot, Lego finally outdid themselves. I’m talking about the Lego Mclaren P1 set. Let me tell y’all, when I saw this car on the website, I was so excited. It is a work of art. It is gorgeous. The detail, the attention to detail, and the functionality of the build itself, especially when you get to the interior of the car with the steering wheel and the gear shifters—man, that is crazy. The details are so insane with this, and to me, it just shows that Lego is the company when it comes to creating beautiful sets. It really, really just takes the cake. I mean, from the wheels down to the tiniest little bricks and the way they built this model, it is beautiful. This set, in my opinion, has to be my number one because it was a game changer when it comes to Lego and how far they’ve come. This is one of their best models yet. I don’t know if they’ll top this one, but I can’t wait to see what 2025 has to offer. But this Mclaren right here is the GOAT of Lego sets in 2024.
